Corrections policy
We want our guidance to be accurate. If we get something wrong, we will fix it.
How to report an error
Use our contact form and choose "Correction." Please include the page address, what you believe is wrong, and — if possible — a source we can check. We read every correction request.
What happens next
- We review the claim against primary sources.
- If a factual error is confirmed, we correct the page promptly.
- For substantive corrections — anything that could change a reader's decision, such as a benefit rule, legal requirement or cost — we update the page's "Updated" date and add a short correction note at the end of the article describing what changed.
- Minor fixes (typos, broken links, clarified wording) are made without a note.
What isn't a correction
Differences in local practice or prices are expected; we may still add a clarification if a page implies a rule applies everywhere when it doesn't. We also welcome suggestions for topics we should cover.
We can't advise on individual situations
Serene Farewells is an educational publisher. We can't resolve disputes with a funeral home or advise on a specific arrangement. For complaints about a funeral provider, contact your state's funeral or cemetery licensing board; for Funeral Rule concerns, you can report to the Federal Trade Commission.
