Accessibility statement

Many of our readers arrive on a phone, under stress. We want every page and tool to be easy to use for everyone.

Our goal

We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AA. In practice, that means:

  • Semantic HTML with a logical heading structure and landmarks, plus a "skip to main content" link
  • Full keyboard operation, with visible focus indicators
  • Labels on every form field and clear, text-based error messages
  • Text and interface colors chosen for sufficient contrast
  • Readable type sizes, comfortable line lengths, and large touch targets
  • No auto-playing media, pop-ups or time limits; reduced motion respected
  • Tools that work without a mouse and produce printable, text-based results

Known limitations

Some linked third-party sites, including government sites and retailers, are outside our control and may not meet the same standard. Our downloadable PDF guide may not be fully accessible to screen readers; if you need the content in another format, contact us and we'll help.

Report a barrier

If something on this site is difficult to use, please tell us through our contact page, including the page address and the device or assistive technology you're using. We'll work to fix it.
